Katherine of Alexandria US release date announced .

Decline Of An Empire “Katherine of Alexandria, a wonderful film starring amongst others, Nicole Keniheart and Peter O’Toole (on his last film role) will be released in the US under the title ‘Decline of an Empire’. I am happy to have created a collaboration, through ‘Cinema Music Consulting’, between composer John Koutselinis and KOA films. Katherine of Alexandria will be released on 12th August, by Lionsgate (US).
“Katherine of Alexandria, brought up as a nomad and living in the desert, was aged just 11 when Emperor Maxentius saw her whilst out on patrol. Consumed by her beauty, impudence and uncanny talent for languages, he abducted the child, killing her family. The slaughter was witnessed by her young friend, Constantine, who would later become Emperor of the Western Roman Empire. He never lost hope of finding Katherine. As a young woman, Katherine refused to submit to Maxentius’ offers of marriage and she continually denounced his brutal enforcement of pagan religion upon the masses. Still obsessed with her beauty, Maxentius brought Katherine before 50 of Rome’s finest scholars in an open court in Alexandria, where she eloquently demolished their arguments. When Constantine learned of Katherine’s whereabouts and imprisonment at the hands of Maxentius, he led his army from York in a desperate bid to save her.

Now Markus must lead the war against a fallen angel named Azazel who moves to release Beshwa from his shackles so he can mate again, this time with a Succubus, Semyaza, for the new race of Nephilim to begin. The Wizard of Seattle Bound For Big Screen

Kay Hooper Film Adaptation Set To Be A Harry Potter/Twilight Franchise For Grownups?

As the Americanized “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” prepares to launch into theaters, many Hollywood insiders are hailing the return of the adult genre movie.

“I think recent R-rated comedies like ‘The Hangover’ and ‘Friends With Benefits’ have given mainstream movies their edge back,” says Writer/Producer/Director Richard O’Sullivan. “There seems to be a willingness in Hollywood now to push the envelope and not play it quite so safe. It’s a little like a daring return to the adventurous 70′s.”

O’Sullivan is banking on that trend continuing with the announcement that he’s optioned the popular Random House/Bantam Books fantasy novel, The Wizard of Seattle, penned by New York Times-best selling author Kay Hooper (Blood Ties), with the hopes that it can become a “more adult version” of such mega-franchises as Harry Potter and Twilight.

“With series like ‘Harry,’ the idea was quite literally to pull readers in at a young age, then let the characters and story mature with the audience,” says O’Sullivan. “Well now, that first crop of kids are young adults. They’re in adult relationships, living in the adult world. What I like about Kay’s book is that she uses things like wizardry and magic to explore male/female relationships in a very mature and complex manner. It’s fun, it’s sexy, and ultimately very thought provoking.”

The Wizard of Seattle, one of the earlier books from Hooper (who rose to superstardom in the literary world with her Bishop crime series), tells the story of two modern day wizards who must travel across time to fight for their right to love one another.

“It’s very timely,” says O’Sullivan. “I think it will resonate with a lot of people on a lot of different levels. Forbidden love is as old as humanity itself. Romeo loving Juliet, vampires loving vampire slayers. In a world where people are increasingly intolerant of people living their lives the way they wanna live them, I can think of no better metaphor. Plus, it’s got the potential to be a terrifically entertaining popcorn movie.”

O’Sullivan, last in the news for his part in the controversial, on-again/off-again Lindsay Lohan comeback vehicle “One Night With You,” is currently in pre-production to direct the groundbreaking horror film “Hallows,” produced by Dale Alexander Carnegie (whose recent remake of “Clash of the Titans” grossed some $500 million wordwide). He is not only signed to write the screenplay for “The Wizard of Seattle,” but will also produce the film along with Linda Parks of Far City Films, in association with Gilberto Vera of Verge Films.

Acclaimed novel, “She Rain”, being adapted for film.

Beautifully written by Michael Cogdill (27 Emmys and a national Edward R. Murrow Award, his work has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, and The Today Show).

She-Rain branches toward one of the least-expected figures ever in a Southern novel. Her mystery begging the question — what might have been, had an African-American infant born of scandal been placed on the arms of one of the grandest American fortunes of the early 20th Century? In the bosom of that fortune, she is raised utterly cloistered, hidden in the clefts of Appalachia, steeped in her “adoptive” mother’s Vassar education, classical piano, and the refinements most mountain people considered as distant and alien as the stars.

When that son of an opium addict (fresh from battling wilderness, a freight train and a white-water river) happens upon her — each in uniquely desperate times — they set off a seismic change to the worlds they’ve known. Driven by what Faulkner might call human hearts conflicted deep within themselves, they rise to meet an adventure compared to that of Cold Mountain and The Color Purple. She-Rain is a magnetic tale that melts the hard rocks of racism, classism, and the violent self-destruction of living down to the worst human expectations. By its contemporary end, this tale has moved readers of both genders to tears.
Entertaining with wild humor, the grit of reality, and a love triangle of the least expected.

Produced by Richard O’Sullivan and Gilberto Vera
Currently being considered for attachment by several major sales and distribution companies.

“Katherine of Alexandria”

Currently working as music consultant with composer John Koutselinis for the wonderful epic feature “Katherine of Alexandria”, now in production in the UK.

Film Synopsis:

This film tells the true story of Katherine of Alexandria, otherwise known as ‘Jabal Ekatherina’, whose libraries (which she had opened for the public) were destroyed by Emperor Maxentius, and who was subsequently beheaded following her torture on a wheel of spikes in 333AD.

Katherine is probably best known for the ‘Katherine Wheel’ firework (also referred to as the ‘Pin Wheel’) which symbolizes the instrument of torture designed to break her. More importantly, she was the first woman of position to publicly denounce Rome’s false gods and her eloquent arguments with fifty of Rome’s finest scholars in an open court in Alexandria captured the spirits of ordinary people around the world.

It was Katherine’s belief in the freedom of faith that led to the eventual collapse of religious persecution under the Romans.

Of the 1200 buildings named after her, the most celebrated is the Monastery of St. Katherine, on the slopes of Mount Sinai, in Egypt. Keeping true to her beliefs, the monastery welcomes all denominations to enter into prayer.

Even as her libraries were being burned prior to her execution, Katherine gave a clear indication that some of her words would survive and had been hidden for future generations. Now, after 1,700 years, a diary (or “little book”) dating back to 333AD and written by ‘Jabal Ekatherina’ is discovered.

Bettie Page Reveals All

Worked with Oscar nominated, Emmy winning producer and director Mark Mori on the documentary “Bettie Page Reveals All”

In addition to various duties as an associate producer, I’m also working as a music consultant overseeing the film’s music and soundtrack production which is now in post production and scheduled for release this coming fall.

Film Synopsis:

Make way for the most photographed pinup, nude, and fetish model of the 20th century: Bettie Page. Her exuberant sensuality fired men’s deepest desires while singeing camera lenses.

The attitude Bettie dished out in her fetish photos was so incendiary that she was targeted by a 1955 Senate investigative committee as a source of teenage-induced depravity. How would that committee feel if they knew her body of photos would be credited with helping to inspire the Sexual and Feminist Revolutions of the 1960s and 1970s?

From countless magazine covers, to religious crusading, to incarceration for mental illness, this is the enthralling true tale of Eisenhower Presidential Era model, Bettie Page. It transcends the wildest of fictionalized notions. Her life experiences ranged from idyllic legends to nightmarish realities. All the while, Bettie hid her private life from fans — until Bettie Page Reveals All.

Bettie Page’s previously unknown personal life is as dramatic as her modeling career is iconic. Bettie Page Reveals All compellingly captures the story of an aspiring teacher turned model who unintentionally affected contemporary pop culture. That surprise role ultimately evolved into Bettie being viewed as our greatest and most controversial model.

As the first and only authorized Bettie Page film biography, the “Queen of Curves” emerges from 40 years of enigmatic seclusion to tell her story in her own words. Moviegoers will be immersed in Bettie’s modeling path by exploring a montage of iconic and rare photographs and film loops, including unseen images from private collections.

With commentary from people who knew her, photographed her, and made love to her, Bettie Page Reveals All is steeped in mirth, mayhem and mystery. The smoldering siren, who fans perceive as making sex fun in an era of sexual repression, finally steps forth with secrets she’s kept buried for decades.

Bettie Page, the icon, launches thousands of imitators worldwide. More popular today than Marilyn Monroe, she is regularly discovered by young men and women who thrive on the art of tease amid our hyper-sexualized society.

Featuring: Hugh Hefner, Rev. Robert Schuller, Olivia, Bunny Yeager, and the “Tease from Tennessee” herself: Bettie Page.
